On this page I have included a collection of audio and video recordings from public performances and intimate sharings. Singing as well as expressing through body and voice has always been an integral part of my journey, a way for me to connect deeply to my heart and feelings and to allow an inner pulse and momentum to carry me from thinking to being. Songs will suddenly appear, wanting to be sung and they bring me in contact with feelings brewing under the immediate surface of my awareness if I allow expression and listen to their message...
In improvisation my body gives me clues and momentum if I can hang out in "not knowing" what is next and let myself be present and open with what is arising here and now....letting the story or piece unfold.....

AUDIO RECORDINGS
SONGS TO MY SOUL...... Vocals: Nidhi Guitar: John Hoy
A friend once said to me that all love songs are ultimately songs we sing to parts of ourselves.
The following songs - all "in the moment", live unpolished "first take" recordings- are for me like calls to my soul and to life ... prayers to belong, to opening and becoming one...

LET'S BRING HEAVEN DOWN HERE by Roy, Shanks, Neigher Carrie
I love the earthiness and truth of this song... |
SURABAYA JOHNNY by Brecht and Weil
I so appreciate the performance style of Brecht where , as a performer you move into the character and emotion to portray of a person ...and then you step back out...you engage and embody....and then release and watch or comment...its a meditation really ... |

“…riveting, deeply moving and entertaining…all at once.”
“…Nidhi has a special gift for telling a story in song…
Her singing is communication at a very deep level."

OUR SHARED HEART
This video is a performance/Body Tale expression of embodied inquiry. Although the clip quality is marginal I have included it because it demonstrates how we can let the energy of a previous experience - that is again arising in us - move through us and be felt, re-examined and shared...and how this approach differs from writing about the experience (as the account of this same experience in my blog)...and how it can inform and accelerate what is opening up in our present experience...
